Center for Women’s Health at Chicago Behavioral Hospital
Our Women’s Connection Program
Our patients participate in process groups that address trauma and utilize CBT. Patients actively participate in expressive therapy, including yoga, movement therapy, art therapy and music therapy. We support our patients with psychoeducational groups that promote healthy coping and practicing mindfulness. Our patient’s stay on average 7-10 days, at the end of treatment our patients are able to recognize healthy coping skills to return home with. They are encouraged to include their loved ones in treatment so we can develop a safety plan upon arrival home.

According to Mental Health America, about one in every eight women can expect to develop clinical depression during their lifetime. Women also experience depression at approximately twice the rate of men, this also includes the age demographics of girls between 14-18. What is most concerning though, is fewer than half of the women who experience clinical depression will ever seek mental health care.
These statistics can’t be ignored, which is why our Women’s Connection program is designed to help women of all ages get the mental health treatment needed to continue on with their lives. It is never easy to admit you are experiencing a problem, but the first step in the healing process of acknowledging that you are in need of help. Our mental health staff is comes with the skills necessary to help you or a loved one, as our Women’s Connection program offers treatment for the following:
